<p>Please join us for the<strong> final TLUG meeting for 2010</strong><a href="http://www.tlug.org.za/meeting-17-announcement-who-needs-botnets-if-you-have-google/#footnote_0_211" id="identifier_0_211" class="footnote-link footnote-identifier-link" title="Experience from 2009 was that everyone is away in December, so we&amp;#8217;re quitting while we&amp;#8217;re ahead this year">1</a> this coming Monday, 1 November.</p>
<p>Ivan Burke will be giving a talk about his research into exploiting Google Gagets to do things you would normally need a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botnet">botnet</a> to pull off. Among other things, he will discuss proof of concept implementations of:</p>
<ul>
<li>Google gadget as anonymous web browsing tool. (Use Google to browse on your behalf. Bypass corporate firewalls and hide IP while browsing.)</li>
<li>Google gadget as man in the middle attack</li>
<li>Google gadget as DDoS (using Google’s servers)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE: Monday&#8217;s talk will be in lecture hall 4-3, not 2-24.</strong></p>
